Dr Kate Gibson is a colorectal specialist providing surgical and non-surgical treatments for conditions of the bowel, colon, rectum and anus who works in Campbelltown and Liverpool.
Dr Gibson graduated from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, University of London in 1999. She moved to Australia to continue her surgical training and obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2006.
She then spent a year at Liverpool Hospital as Senior Surgical Registrar before undertaking a two year specialist Fellowship with the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand.
Having been based at Liverpool Hospital for most of her general surgical training, Dr Gibson developed a strong affinity with South Western Sydney and subsequently took up positions as a specialist Colorectal Surgeon at Liverpool and Campbelltown Hospitals.
She continues in her public role at Liverpool Hospital and for the convenience of her patients has established her private consultancy and surgical practices at Liverpool and Campbelltown.
Her special interests include laparoscopic and robotic surgery for colorectal disease with particular interests in colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease as well as an interest in the surgical management of perianal conditions and anal fistula.
Dr Gibson is accredited through the Gastroenterological Society of Australia for both upper and lower endoscopy with the bulk of her endoscopic practice based around colonoscopy.
