Robotic Surgery

What is robotic surgery?

Robotic surgery (or robotic-assisted surgery) allows your specialist surgeon to perform complex procedures with more precision, control and flexibility compared with standard techniques.

A robotic surgical system includes a camera arm and mechanical arms with surgical instruments attached. Your specialist surgeon controls the arms at a computer console. The console provides a high definition, 3-D view of the surgery site.

Robotic surgery is usually performed through small incisions, making it minimally invasive surgery. The benefits of minimally invasive surgery include fewer complications such as infection, faster recovery and smaller scars.
